The government of Iran has accused the United States and Israel of preparing what it described as a “false-flag” operation involving drones in order to blame Tehran for attacks across the region.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, officials alleged that Washington and Tel Aviv had reproduced the design of Iran’s Shahed-136 drone and were using these replicas to carry out strikes in neighboring countries while attributing responsibility to Iran.
According to the ministry, the alleged operations are intended to frame Iran and further inflame tensions in the Middle East. The statement described the supposed scheme as a “deceptive” effort meant to provoke instability and mislead governments in the region.
Tehran called on neighboring states to remain alert to what it characterized as attempts by outside powers to manipulate the security situation. Iranian officials urged governments in the region not to “fall into the trap” of accusations directed at Iran without clear evidence.
The warning comes amid rising tensions and a series of reported drone incidents in different parts of the region. Iranian authorities have denied involvement in those attacks and claim that they are being targeted by a coordinated campaign of misinformation.
Iran’s foreign ministry said the country remains committed to regional stability and encouraged cooperation among neighboring states to counter what it called efforts by external actors to undermine peace and security.
