End the Criminal Economic Blockade against Cuba by U.S. Imperialism!

To the working class and the peoples of the world:

In spite of the fact that on repeated occasions, the UN General Assembly, dominated mainly by the imperialist powers themselves, has voted against the U.S. economic embargo against Cuba, the White House of the United States has unilaterally maintained this decision against the Cuban people for decades, whether Republicans or Democrats like the current President Joe Biden.

Not content with the economic blockade, the interventionist plans of U.S. imperialism have gone even further; for many years now, the US security and intelligence agencies have been systematically working with the right-wing reactionary groups both inside and outside Cuba, especially from the City of Miami, various attempts to strike at the Cuban regime, now headed by the legitimate President of the Republic of Cuba: Miguel Diaz-Canel.

Starting last Sunday, in a synchronized manner, in about 20 locations in Cuba, and in Miami, mobilizations against the Cuban government took place, whose demands revolved around the lack of food and medical supplies, which have been caused precisely because of the economic blockade under which Cuba lives, and aggravated by the current international economic crisis.

As the days go by, it is becoming evident that the real objective of these reactionary demonstrations of the opposition, is that under the mask of establishing a humanitarian corridor to supply food and medicine, U.S. imperialism will intervene in Cuba and create the conditions for the overthrow of the legitimate government, as was done in Bolivia with the coup d’état against Evo Morales or as it is intended to do in Venezuela against the Bolivarian government of Nicolás Maduro.

Faced with this scenario of imperialist offensive against the Cuban people; the member organizations of the International League of the Struggle of the International League of the Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS), where we develop our work in Latin America and the Caribbean,  we repudiate the coup and sell-out attitude of the reactionary right-wing that act inside and outside of Cuba. We demand the immediate lifting of the economic blockade against Cuba by U.S. imperialism and express our broadest solidarity with the struggle of the Cuban people for their right to self-determination and the defense of their national sovereignty. We are convinced that the way to resolve Cuba’s internal difficulties must be determined by the Cuban people themselves.

Fraternally yours: Provisional Committee of Latin America and the Caribbean of the INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE FOR THE STRUGGLE OF THE PEOPLES.
