Hill Voice, 18 November 2020, Bandarban: Army-backed Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) terrorists have allegedly abducted six indigenous Marma villagers in Galengya Union of Ruma Upazila in Bandarban district. The kidnappers later released the villagers in exchange for a large amount of ransom.

According to local sources, on 16 November 2020 at around 10:00 pm, 6 Marma villagers were abducted by ALP armed terrorists from Pantalapara village of Galengya union.

The victims 6 villagers of the abduction were 1. Chuihlamong Marma (45), father-late Chingshaiu Marma, elected member of the Galengya Union Council; 2. Kohlaong Marma, father-late Mongpruchai Marma; 3. Anumong Marma, father-late Prohlaong Marma; 4. Angsuenang Marma, father-Thuainuching Marma; 5. Monkiting Marma, Father-Mongpruching Marma; 6. Mongchingnu Marma, father-unknown.

It is learnt that on the morning of November 18, 2020, the kidnapper ALP members demanded a ransom of Tk 10 lakh, released 4 out of 6 people and detained two others. Later in the afternoon, two others were released in exchange for Tk 5 lakh.
